As parents of
former and present high school basketball players,
the Colorado Fever coaches understand the importance
of early development. There are many things we
wished our sons and daughters could have learned at
an early age. Being their parent made it difficult
to teach them anything BECAUSE WE WERE THEIR
PARENTS! What we needed was a good coach and a good
organization to guide and teach them.
One of the goals
of the Colorado Fever Athletic Association is to combine the
knowledge of several different coaches to assist
your child in his or her early development. Our
coaches are required to attend numerous trainings
and seminars. This will allow us to have a better
chance in getting the full development of your young
basketball player.
The Colorado
Fever Athletic Association also requires a lot from
its players as well. Not only do we require an
a 100% effort on the court, we also require this is
the classroom. Our players understand that not
performing in the classroom prohibits their playing
time on the court. We are dedicated in
developing the STUDENT athlete as a whole. Our
organization also has plans in asking some of its
teams and players to become involved in community
service activities. We remind them that this
is an activity that they will involved themselves in
throughout their basketball career.
Please note that
we are an organization that is serious about
basketball and will be committed as such. We
understand that there will be different levels of
commitment of each child. However, we will expect
some commitment of each player in becoming a better
at basketball. We don’t expect your child to choose
whether he will be a basketball player or a football
player; especially at a young age. However, teams
are divided based on talent and/or commitment. This
means that if a child really wants to be a
basketball player, this is the organization for him
or her. On the other hand, if he or she just likes
to play and hasn’t decided on a primary sport,
that’s okay to. We would love to have them.
