COLORADO FEVER COACHES

Keith Howard is a former collegiate football player at the University of Florida who has now turned his sites to coaching youth basketball. His experience began as a coach for the 7th and 8th Grade Smoky Hill High School Girls Feeder Team. He later began coaching club basketball with the Colorado Swoosh. Mr. Howard joined the Colorado Swoosh as a head coach of the 7th Grade Girls Swoosh team. He then moved on to become an off-season volunteer coach with the Overland High School Varsity Girl's team. This path was guided by bringing up his own daughter in the game of basketball.

Now Mr. Howard has turn his sites to boy's basketball and is now the head coach of the 5th grade boys Colorado Fever team.

Percy Washington has been coaching for several years. His experience comes from playing semi-pro basketball with the Air Force Squadron base league basketball. Mr. Washington has coached from 4^th through 12^th graders. He has coached the 8th grade Eagle Crest High School feeder teams, in the Jam League and currently coaching for City of Aurora League. Several of the kids he has coached went on to play high school basketball and beyond.

Coach Wash's motto is "hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard." He also believes if a child wants to learn the game of basketball, he has the gift and knowledge to teach them sound fundamental basketball skills.

Kevin Patton has been coaching basketball for several years prior to joining the Colorado Fever organization. In the off season, he also shares his time as a track coach of the Colorado Steppers organization. Coach Patton utilizes his experience in running to better condition our ball players.

With the help of Coach Patton, our teams have become 4th Quarter teams.

Phil Strickland has been coaching youth basketball in the metro area since the mid-90's. He is a University of Colorado alumnus who has established numerous relationships with area high school coaches. Coach Phil has the knowledge of what it takes to succeed in high school sports and how to transition into the next level.

During his tenure as a Colorado Fever coach, he has shown to be invaluable as a defensive specialist for the organization.

Ron Abbott is one of the Colorado Fever's experienced coaching staff. His has been with the organization since the spring of 2007. However, his coaching experience began prior to joining the organization. He has been an active coaching in the Aurora Recreational League and continues to advance his coaching abilities while being apart of the coaching staff with the Colorado Fever.

Ron Dickey is new to the Colorado Fever but has coached youth sports for several years. His experience comes from playing High School Basketball (many years ago), and Adult basketball leagues. Mr. Dickey has previously coached his two boys' Cherry Creek Baseball team, Storm Soccer team, and Aurora Basketball team. Coach Dickey has joined the Colorado Fever and will coach the 5th grade boys team. He is enthusiastic to teach the boys the skills of basketball and pass on his love of the game.

Beth Stevens has been an excellent addition to the coaching staff with the Colorado Fever. As a former collegiate basketball player, she brings a wealth of experience and know-how to the organization. Beth is presently working with the boys division but will soon head the girls division that will begin in the near future.

Erik Nicholson has brought experience and youth to the Colorado Fever coaching team. The addition of Coach Erik has allowed the coaching staff to work more closely with each individual player.

He hails from New Jersey where he played college ball with the Union County College basketball team. He has now brought the knowledge of college basketball to the forefront for our kids.

Coach Erik's motto is "Tough defense turns to easy offense!"
