As parents of
former and present high school basketball players,
the Colorado Fever coaches understand the importance
of early athletic development. There are many things we
wished our sons and daughters could have learned at
an early age. Being their parent made it difficult
to teach them anything BECAUSE WE WERE THEIR
PARENTS! What we needed was a good coach and a good
organization to guide and teach them.
The Colorado Fever Athletic Association combines
the
knowledge from different experienced coaches to assist
your child in his or her early athletic development. Our
coaches are continuously developing ways to further
enhance our players abilities. We've also
established ongoing training and seminars to further
enhance the knowledge of our coaches. This process
has assured that the coaches have the ongoing tools
needed to teach each of our players the fundamentals
of basketball.
The Colorado
Fever Athletic Association requires a lot from
its players. Not only do we require a 100% effort on the court, we also require this in
the classroom. Our players understand that not
performing in the classroom prohibits their playing
time on the court. We are dedicated in
developing the STUDENT athlete as a whole.
This is why we require players to turn in their
progress reports and report cards. All of our
players must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point
average to be eligible to participate. Our
organization also has plans in implementing
community service activities for some of its teams
and players.
Please note that
we are an organization that is serious about
basketball and will be committed as such. We
understand that there will be different levels of
commitment from each child. However, we will expect
some commitment from each player in becoming better
at basketball. We don’t expect your child to
choose between basketball and other sports; especially at a young age. However, teams
are divided based on talent and/or commitment. This
means that if a child really wants to be a
basketball player, this is the organization for him
or her. On the other hand, if he or she just likes
to play and hasn’t decided on a primary sport,
that’s okay too. We would love to have them.
WE ARE AN
ORGANIZATION BUILT ON FUNDAMENTALS, NOT WINNING!
WINNING IS A RESULT OF GOOD FUNDAMENTALS!
